Citibank 2-peso treat: Purefoods Fun Stuff Nuggets

I received a text from Citibank after I bought my 1TB Seagate external hard disk last week.

Citibank's text to me

And so, this is the sequel to Citibank's 2-peso treat. Please click on the image to check the promo period and purchase period. But, by now.. the promo period had already ended.

Since, this is the first day to purchase the treat, I went to Robinsons Galleria to get my 2-peso treats. Following the same procedure from my previous KitKat: Citibank-2-peso Treat post, claiming it was a smooth transaction. I even didn't speak a word. LOL.

By the way, since Galleria is in QC and follows the "No Plastic Bag" policy, you will not be given a plastic bag or even a paper bag in order to carry these. But you can buy from the grocery store for 2-pesos.

Best before date for both packs is September 2013

Hmmmm.... I noticed that Citibank is giving us treats that would normally lapse/expire in 2-3 months. Maybe they are buying these in bulk with big discounts. Nice marketing strategy, huh?

Now, we should be expecting Hershey chocolates for the next months since I've seen these chocolates on sale in various voucher sites with December 2013 expiration date. *grin*

CD-R King: LCD Rapid Charger and Ecomax batteries

Got these CD-R King LCD Rapid Charger and Ecomax batteries when I bought my Fuji camera last November 27, 2012. After half a year of average use, I can say that these CDR King's babies are worth it. When I say average, it's weekly. I can't classify what kind of photographer am I, LOL All I know is I love to take pictures.

The charger can take both AAA and AA batteries. What I love most is the battery indicator because I hate guessing how much time I needed to wait. Normally, these 4 batteries would take more than 2 hours to have them recharged and would last for hours. The length of battery life depends on the way I used it -- video, shots with flash, macro, etc.

Super Cup Milk Tea: An Affordable Way to Enjoy a Cup of Freshness

I've never been to St. Francis for a few months now, so when I dropped today, I was surprised that there is a new store beside Skin Station. At first, I wondered what are they selling. It's a cup. A cup noodles? But there's no kitchen considering the small space it occupies. Then the sales attendant approached me (outside) and told me that they are serving iced teas, while holding a huge plastic cup.

Their sales counter. See how small the space is?

... then that's the wall leading to the door..
...real SUPER CUP!
I bought Wintermelon with no jellies or pearls. It's sweet for my taste, maybe because it has fewer ice? Or maybe, I'm not just a sweet lover, lol.  Tastes like Gong Cha's winter melon tea sans the creamy milk.

When I got back to office, I showed it to my colleagues while saying.."Para akong may dalang isang pitsel ng milk tea."

For it's price, it's definitely a winner! As of writing, I'm still not done sipping it.

Kitkat: Citibank 2-peso Treat

I don’t know what’s with Citibank. They don’t announce their promos beforehand nor do they send out marketing information to their cardholders. Maybe they don’t want us to avail their promos then, LOL. They just want us to swipe and guess what’s in store for those transaction receipts, other than appearing on our next monthly bill.

Better that I had checked their website because I will order a checkbook. They have their 2-peso treat wherein when you used your Citibank card within a week (promo period), you can buy special goodies for 2-peso. I missed this promo last December 2012, so definitely I said to myself that I have to try this.

I checked my statement online and saw that I have used it within the promo period. The amount is qualified since it is more than 2,500 pesos. I went to Robinsons Galleria Supermarket to redeem the Kitkat and it was hassle free. You will just have to hand them (Citibank attendants) your credit card, and the terminal will automatically determine the number of treats you can purchase. The 2-peso will also be charged to your account so no need to pay in cash the 2-peso.

Here’s the lovely limited edition Kitkat, I love the box! It includes 12 pcs. four-finger Kitkats and worth (originally) P299.00.

UPDATE (June 24, 2013):

It's back by popular demand. If you have used your Citibank credit card within June 11 to 17, 2013 for a minimum single-receipt purchase of P2,500, you may buy your 2-peso KitKat from June 21 to 27, 2013 at Robinsons Supermarket stores.

No need for transaction receipts, just present your Citibank credit card. Let the system work for you.

Here are some additional pics:

Free Timex His and Hers Watch from Standard Chartered Bank

Got this couple watch free from Timex, courtesy of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB). I was issued with a combo credit card, a Platinum and a Gold card which shares the same credit limit. It’s like SCB just gives us a choice what color of card we prefer to swipe, to flash or to use on purchases.

I used to be an SCB credit card holder but got pissed with their customer service that I decided to have it discontinued. That was 6 years ago. Now, they have improved (pwera usog!) and offers freebies on certain single-receipt purchases. What I love best is the free Seattle’s Best Coffee for a minimum purchase of P2,500.

Back to the watches, it’s good for daily use and I like the classic look. I think this pair costs around P2,500 to P3,000. Not bad for a freebie.

Go Hotel Bacolod Soft Opening

I am one of the lucky early birds who had a chance to avail the P88 promo of GO Hotel Bacolod.
Such a great coincidence that I have booked a flight to Bacolod on July 25-29, 2012.

What a steal! It's only P88 + 12% VAT, that's more or less 100 bucks. But there's a catch, the rates are only applicable on weekdays, weekend rates starts at P588 + 12% VAT.

Go Hotel Bacolod is located at the back of Robinsons Mall. It is not along Lacson Street contrary to what is stated at their website. Go Hotel Bacolod address

Upon arrival at Silay Airport at 10:15am via Cebu Pacific, I head off straight to GO Hotel for an early check-in.  I arrived there at around 11am.  Here's the facade:

The customer service counter has only one staff to accommodate walk-in queries and hotel guests. I immediately handed my hotel bookings and asked if I can check-in early or just leave my luggage.  The staff instructed me to wait while pointing at the seats.  I sat and patiently waited.

After 20 minutes, I noticed that she had already entertained around 4 walk-in queries. I approached her again and she suddenly remembered me! Aha! So she has totally forgotten to get back to me. Gawd! I had to be patient, I don't want to ruin my trip. She requested me to wait for a few minutes more because their luggage counter was still not open. That explains it.

After several minutes more, the staff happily announced to me that I can now leave my luggage upon payment of P50.00.  I handed her P50.00 and had a lunch at Robinsons.

I went back at 2pm for check-in and still had to wait for about 10 minutes before the key card was handed to me.

Here are the shots I took.

Sorry, I forgot to take a shot of the sink and the mirror. There's one electric outlet where you can plug your hair drier or electric shaver. There's also a free shampoo and soap which are good for one-time use. Two towels are also provided.

And finally, the view from my window.

I still have some pictures to upload.

There's also a nook, with one chair, where you can write or put your laptop. I used it to put my knick-knacks and junk foods, lol.

By the way, as of this writing, the hotel has still no telephone land line (weird for a business). So, all transactions are done via email or walk-in queries.
